The Big Easy Rollergirls dominated the Dixie Derby Girls, 130-93, on Saturday, July 23rd at the UNO Human Performance Center. Though the All-Stars were down in the first half, they came back strong in the second and shoved their way to a win over the Raging Rockets. The bout also featured a halftime performance by the Rebirth Rollerz, who danced around the track while two members showcased their breakdancing skills on skates in the center. It was very cool to see.
My main focus of this bout was to capture more close-in action, as well as some candids of the All-Stars and their coach. I shot solely with the 70-200mm f/2.8 on the 7D. Though I had a secondary with me the whole time, I found myself only reaching for it once or twice during the night for a few wide shots.
